Enjoy this day out in a remote corner of New Zealand, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. With a variety of scenery from native bush, craggy cliffs, seaviews and coastal farmland, there is something to behold around every corner. The day is composed of two interlinking hikes, with views over the Hauraki Gulf, the Colville Channel and beyond to the Pacific Ocean.
- Hike the first 3kms over private coastal farmland with views right across the Colville Channel and out to Great Barrier Island. This section flows onto the very popular Muriwai Walk, also consisting of 3kms. This rises up from sealevel to around 200 metres and certainly packs some punches with yet more amazing coastal views over the busy Colville Channel.
- Enjoy lunch and cooling swim under the towering pohutukawa at Port Jackson. A rewarding place to sit and soak up the coastal feels.
- The final third sea is 3kms around the Port Jackson Headland high up above the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana. This has got to be so good for your soul.
Rejoin the shuttle, sit back, relax and enjoy the trip back in the comfort of our air conditioned van.
We will provide morning tea and water top-ups at the end of the hike.

Departs Colville from our homestead at 76 Wharf Road, Colville at 9.00 am (check-in 10 mins prior). You return to your vehicle at your own pace by around 5pm. Off street parking is available behind the house.
What to bring
Sturdy walking shoes, sunhat, sunscreen, warm layer, rain jacket, swimming togs, towel, camera, insect repellent plus lunch to enjoy on the hike as well as any snacks and water.
